ZX50U is a series of small hydraulic excavators launched by Hitachi Construction Machinery. It is compact, flexible and powerful, suitable for narrow space operations:
I. Basic parameters
Model differences
The ZX50U series includes multiple sub-models, such as ZX50U-5N, ZX50U-2, ZX50U-3F, etc. Different models have slight differences in emission standards, power configuration and detailed design. For example:
ZX50U-5N: meets Tier 4 Final emission standards, empty vehicle weight 4,790 kg, engine power 27.1 kW, using cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) technology1.
ZX50U-2/3F: operating weight is about 5,170-5,260 kg, standard bucket capacity is 0.17-0.19 m³, equipped with Yanmar 4TNV88 engine (rated power 29.8 kW, displacement 2.2 L), maximum torque 138 N·m256.
Dimensions and structure
Transport dimensions: total length of about 5,460 mm, total width of 2,000 mm, height of 2,550-2,600 mm, tail turning radius of minimum 1,080 mm, suitable for narrow space operations.
Track design: track gauge 1,600 mm, ground contact length 2,000 mm, ground contact pressure 32 kPa, enhanced stability.
2. Performance characteristics
Power and efficiency
The engine supports power/economy dual mode switching: the power mode improves operating efficiency, and the economy mode reduces fuel consumption and noise.
The hydraulic system adopts a variable axial piston pump + gear pump combination, the main pump flow rate reaches 125 L/min, and the automatic idling function is used to optimize fuel efficiency.
Operation capacity
The maximum digging depth is 3,530-3,600 mm, the maximum digging height is 5,640 mm, and the bucket digging force is 36.8 kN, which is suitable for light engineering such as earthwork excavation and backfilling.
Backfill blade is standard, and full hydraulic blade (tilted 25°) is optional to improve the efficiency of leveling operations.
Operation and maintenance
Cab design: optimizes the field of view, equipped with anti-rollover and falling object protection structure, but the space is compact.
Maintenance convenience: detachable front hose, improved cooler channel design, reduce maintenance difficulty.
III. Advantages and disadvantages analysis
Advantages:
